Turn off to Slough Creek
The "slough" part of the creek, I guess.
This photo was actually taken the 2nd day I was in YNP when I hurried to get there early evening to see wildlife.
This is where I thought there was a bridge to cross Slough... NOT!
What to do instead?
Looking at GPS and map.
This area was much more magnificent than the photos appear.
This guy wandered in while I was at the picnic table... I wondered if he was a Fenn treasure hunter but decided not likely.
Where Buffalo Fork Trail picked up on the far side of Slough Creek.... I wanted to search in the boulders on the little knoll left center in picture. Easy peasy for FF to go there.
Lots of water in all the streams and rivers when I was there.
I don't think the little tree at bottom right of photo should be swimming... that's how high the water was.
I about had a stroke when I saw Buffalo Creek lined up perfectly at 56'56" between sites 5 and 6.
Longitude line put me in those boulders above campsite. 500 feet from the dirt road.
home of Brown... can't be a structure but maybe it just means there are grizzes frequenting this area. YIKES! I was prepared with bear spray and that 9mm inside that pouch between my legs. YIKES!
Another boulder in line with my longitude "y-line"
Starting up the hillside looking in amongst the glacial boulders.
People walking below me, never knowing I was on the boulders above them. See how close to the road I was.
Continuing up the hill to more hidey spots.
Looking back of Buffalo Creek, my "y-line".
I could see trees, I could see mountains, I could see animals (bison and antelope in the area)
What a view... Forrest should have picked this place to hide the loot!
Another stroke in the making... when I peered into that crevice.
Did he hide the chest in plain sight but camouflaged ?
Looking back at Buffalo Creek from higher up hillside.
I found the blaze on the up-hill side... is that a butterfly I see, or am I delirious?
Forrest, where did you secret your little cache???
